Disability Rights Advocacy Project for Inclusive Development (D-RAPID) Project
Disability Rights Advocacy Project for Inclusive Development (D-RAPID) is a 36-month advocacy and capacity-building initiative focused on advancing the full implementation and domestication of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act, 2018, at both national and sub-national levels (Benue and Delta state but NWTF’s focus is Benue state)
The Goal
to improve the rights of persons with disabilities through the effective implementation of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2018
Expected objectives:
- Strengthen the National Commission for Persons with Disabilities (NCPWD)’s capacity to implement the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2018.
- Support domestication of the Discrimination Against Persons with Disabilities (Prohibition) Act 2018 in Benue State.
- Promote economic empowerment and livelihood for persons with disabilities through entrepreneurship, vocational training and access to assistive technology.

D-RAPID: Sensitization program at MOAUM & JOSTUM
Students and union leaders in Makurdi came together under the D-RAPID project to learn about the Disability Discrimination Act and strengthen commitments to accessibility, equal opportunity, and dignity for persons with disabilities across their campuses.
