Amy Oyekunle serves as the Gender Equality & Social Inclusion Team Lead and National Safeguarding Lead for PLANE. With over two decades of experience, Amy specialises in gender research, policy formulation, gender-based violence prevention, adolescent girls’ safeguarding, women, peace and security, community mobilisation, and NGO management. She has collaborated with government agencies to develop both National and State Action Plans on women, peace and security, as well as safeguarding policies and referral pathways.

Throughout her career, Amy has partnered with a range of international and national organisations to design comprehensive programme and conduct evaluations. Her portfolio includes engagements with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, UN Women, Federal Ministry of Women Affairs, Social Development Direct, Banyan Global, DAI, Open Capital Advisory, ITAD, Oxford Policy Management, Equality Now, International Alert, Save the Children, British Council, WaterAid, Sahel Consulting and Nutrition, and the Global Fund for Children. Additionally, she is the founder of Monii Development Consult (MDC), a research, development, and project management organisation dedicated to providing technical gender assistance to development programmes, governmental partners, and private sector entities across Nigeria.

Amy also contributes her expertise as a board member of Safe Space Initiative, Food Basket Foundation International, Nigerian Women Trust Fund (NWTF) and is a member of Zonta International Club of Lagos 1. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from the University of Leeds, a postgraduate diploma in Management from Leeds Metropolitan University, and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.
