Brenda Anugwom is a distinguished leader with over two decades of dedicated service in the fields of justice, gender equality, and social development. As a champion of women’s rights, political participation, and inclusive development, Brenda brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her work.

She has held key positions in national and international organizations. Notably, Brenda worked with the World Bank in the United States, Nigeria, and the Central African Republic, where she supported initiatives aimed at strengthening governance and social development outcomes.

Her commitment to justice and human rights is further reflected in her role as Legal Advisor to Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in South Sudan, as well as her substantial contributions to research on discriminatory laws affecting women across Africa.

Brenda’s leadership extends to her tenure as Country Advisor and Consultant for Policy Vault Africa, where she facilitated strategic partnerships with government institutions and led the digitization of national policies and laws to enhance public access and transparency. As a Procurement Legal Expert for the Nigerian Governors Forum, she provided expert guidance to all 36 Nigerian states, ensuring alignment of Public Procurement Laws with international standards.

Beyond her professional roles, Brenda is an accomplished speaker and facilitator, actively engaging on critical topics such as gender-based violence, women’s political participation, and human rights. She is also a skilled trainer, equipping individuals and organizations with practical tools in project management and advocacy.

Academically, Brenda holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Rule of Law for Development from Loyola University Chicago, and a Barrister at Law (B.L) from the Nigerian Law School.
