Olufunke Baruwa
Olufunke Baruwa is a gender and development expert, public policy advisor, and feminist with over two decades of experience in advancing women’s rights and gender equality in Nigeria.
For more than two decades, she has been at the forefront of social policies and reforms in Nigeria working with government, civil society, and international development partners to design and implement policies that promote women’s participation in leadership and governance. Baruwa has served as the CEO of the Nigerian Women’s Trust Fund, where she championed initiatives to increase the political representation of women.
She was most recently the Program Officer for Gender, Racial, and Ethnic Justice at the Ford Foundation’s West Africa Office. Her work includes addressing intersectional challenges that hinder social justice and equity.
